This is the starting point, not the answer. The exact frequency depends on where the buildup sits in your track — true peak exceeding 0 dBFS is the pattern, but the centre frequency moves with the arrangement and the key. Measure first, then cut.

The Fix Is the Same in Every DAW — Only the Menu Changes

This is a mixing problem, not a software problem: clipping / true peak issues is caused by true peak exceeding 0 dBFS, and that happens in the audio itself regardless of which DAW you mix in. Only the location of the controls changes.

Step by Step

Load your mix and open an EQ on the master bus (or the offending channel).
Set a band at roughly N/A with a Q of N/A.
Apply -1 dB limiter — cut if the fix is negative, boost if positive.
Sweep the frequency while the band is boosted +6 dB to find the exact centre where the problem is worst, then set the gain back to -1 dB limiter.
A/B against bypass until the difference is obvious, then leave it bypassed and confirm you still prefer the fix.
Re-analyse the mix to confirm the severity dropped — from Critical to Moderate to Ideal.
